The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) hosted the third edition of its KampuSajf Festival between 20 and 22 August at the Mosta campus and amphitheatre, with APS Bank as the main partner.

Co-directed by Elyse Tonna and Justin Galea, the festival has become a regular fixture in Malta’s cultural calendar. This year’s theme, “Gathering of Possibilities”, highlighted cross-disciplinary work and community-led projects, intending to encourage dialogue between students, artists, and the wider public on campus.

The programme featured three evenings of live performances, talks, film screenings, and music. Opening highlights included What Language Do You Dream In? by Dance Beyond Borders, a series of short films exploring themes of identity, and Ir-Raġel, a collaborative work led by Glen Calleja.

The second day featured The Spoken Word by Alex Weenink and Sam Alekksandra, as well as Resonant Bodies, a piece exploring sound and movement by Sarah Vella and Benji Cachia.

The closing night included Sounds of Ultralow Music by Cher Camilleri, Dean Muscat, and Kym Pepe, followed by Żummara – Old Roots, New Rhymes, created during an on-campus residency by Rea, Orfew, and Funky Monkey. A final set by Radju Ħaj brought the festival to an energetic close.

A new mural by artist Pep Walls now marks the festival’s presence on campus, offering a permanent reminder of the event.

KampuSajf 2025 was supported by APS Bank, Comsec, and SG Solutions. The festival continues to provide a space for new conversations and collaborations, reinforcing its role as a platform for emerging talent and creative exchange.
