From October 27 to 31, students and educators from the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Latvia, and France participated in the POVE Water Summer School held in Malta. The programme provided a valuable platform for academic exchange, professional collaboration, and an in-depth exploration of Maltese water management systems.

The initiative commenced with introductory and team-building activities that facilitated interaction among participants from different countries. These early sessions fostered a spirit of cooperation that continued throughout the week, encouraging cross-cultural collaboration and shared learning.

The week’s agenda featured a series of presentations, project-based activities, and field excursions, all aimed at broadening participants’ understanding of sustainable water practices. Engaging discussions allowed both students and accompanying lecturers to exchange perspectives and gain insight into water management approaches adopted across Europe.

Beyond the academic components, the Summer School also offered a rich cultural experience. Participants had the opportunity to discover Malta’s history, environment, and traditions, deepening their appreciation of the island’s relationship with its natural resources.

One of the most valuable outcomes of the programme was the establishment of international connections among the participating institutions. The collaboration fostered during the Summer School has not only expanded students’ academic horizons but also strengthened professional networks among educators.
