Ms Ann Marie Cassar
Deputy Principal Student Experience

A seasoned educator and administrator, Ann Marie transitioned into academic management as a Director of Studies, focusing on pedagogical appraisal and tailored programme design. This was followed by a period managing administrative operations and large-scale events within the tourism industry. Having read for a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Malta, Ann Marie pursued a Master’s in Early Childhood Education and Care at the University of Sheffield, further exploring the foundational years of the educational journey.

In 2014, she joined MCAST, initially as a lecturer and later serving as Deputy Director—where she
focused on bridging the gap between academic outcomes and industry requirements. As Director of the Institute of Community Services, she oversaw a diverse portfolio of vocational programs and spearheaded the inception of new initiatives that doubled the institute’s size. She further contributes to the field through service on various academic boards. Ann Marie is currently reading a Doctorate in Education at the University of Buckingham specialising in the professional identity of vocational educators. Her research portfolio includes collaborative contributions to various research initiatives and active participation in national educational policy fora.
