The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) has officially issued its open call for proposals for the 2025 edition of KampuSajf, its annual summer arts festival. Now in its third year and supported by APS Bank, the festival continues to establish itself as a platform for creative experimentation and cultural exchange during the quieter summer months on campus.
This year’s festival, taking place from 20 to 22 August, will unfold under the conceptual framework ‘Gathering of Possibilities’, which invites artists and communities to explore acts of collective imagination, collaboration and transformation.
In a shift towards co-leadership, KampuSajf 2025 will be jointly curated by Elyse Tonna and Justin Galea, who will guide the artistic process from proposal selection through to project realisation. KampuSajf 2025 benefits from their combined vision bringing together Elyse’s curatorial depth and socially-engaged approach with Justin’s vibrant performance background and collaborative spirit. Their interdisciplinary experience promises a dynamic, inclusive and imaginative festival shaped by care, experimentation and creative exchange.
KampuSajf is calling for submissions from individual artists, collectives, and organisations working across disciplines – from visual and performance art to literature, socially-engaged practices, and site-responsive works. Proposals should reflect the festival’s ethos of sustainability, inclusivity, and grassroots empowerment while engaging with the unique environment of the MCAST campus in Mosta.
Selected participants will receive a project budget of up to €2,000 along with access to rehearsal spaces, production support, and opportunities for collaboration with the artistic team. The deadline for submissions is 13 June 2025, with selected applicants to be notified by 30 June 2025.
