President of the Board of Governors Horace Laudi and Principal and CEO Stephen Vella joined current and former staff, alumni, and guests for an evening recognising the contributions of those who have worked and studied at MCAST over the past 25 years.

A special part of the evening honoured over fifty employees who have worked at MCAST for 25 years. The College President and Principal presented them with awards recognising their service to the College.

MCAST 25 years (44)Mr Stephen Vella said MCAST’s story was about more than its buildings, courses and projects.

“Above all, it is about the people,” he said. “In 25 years, much has changed. Thousands of students have passed through MCAST, the College has grown, and the world around us has changed too. But everyone who was part of MCAST left their mark.”

Mr Vella also thanked former Principals, former Presidents of the Board of Governors, former directors, and past and present Board members for their work over the years.

The evening also launched the MCAST Alumni Network, which will help former students stay in touch with the College and each other. Around 50,000 students have studied at MCAST since 2001.

The event was hosted by MCAST alumnus Keith Demicoli. The US Navy Brass Quintet performed during the reception through a collaboration with the US Embassy in Malta, while local band Versatile provided entertainment later in the evening.

The celebration was among several activities marking MCAST’s 25th anniversary and offered an opportunity to thank staff and others who have contributed to the College over the years.
