The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) has announced the programme for the fourth edition of KampuSajf, its summer arts festival. The event will take place on 6, 7, and 8 August 2026 at the MCAST Institute for the Creative Arts (ICA) Campus in Mosta. Under the artistic direction of Justin Galea and Elyse Tonna, the festival is once again powered by APS Bank, whose support for the fourth consecutive year has helped make this year’s programme possible.

This year’s edition, titled Playgrounds for Emergence, focuses on the early stages of artistic practice. It explores how ideas develop through experimentation, collaboration, and testing. The campus will serve as a flexible setting for performances, installations, workshops, and interdisciplinary projects, using classrooms, studios, and outdoor spaces over three evenings.

KampuSajf will transform the ICA Mosta Campus into a lively gathering place for contemporary performance, music, theatre, film, and visual art. It will bring together some of Malta’s most exciting artists and emerging voices. Audiences can move freely between installations, performances, and conversations in a relaxed summer environment, experiencing the campus in a new way.

The KampuSajf programme highlights include:

Thursday 6 August: Kabana by Reuse Collective, an interactive installation transforming the ICA garden. This will be alongside the workshop FDAL by Julian Micallef, and an evening of environmental film and discussion presented by ĊineAmbjent and Friends of the Earth Malta. The night ends with Storm Petrelle, a live music project led by Marie Claire Gatt involving student-created projected visuals.

Friday 7 August: A public discussion with Kabana by Reuse collective, Now You See Us, a site-specific movement intervention by Rochelle Gatt and Luke Bugeja Gauci, followed by Il-Kunsill tat-Triq by Chewing Productions, and 141 Records. This energetic blend of hip-hop, live music, and theatre concludes with the thought-provoking performance 5subien.com by Teatru Malta in the amphitheatre.

Saturday 8 August: The closing night begins with a workshop by Julian Micallef, followed by music performances by Ella Puci, a debut hip-hop/jazz project Xugaman & DEM, and the Live Mixtape concert by local producers Ġiżimina, That BB and Child. Marsela will wrap up the festival with a DJ set that blends funk, disco, and house.
