The Open Days held on 20 June at the Paola campus and 22 June at the Mosta campus attracted a high number of prospective students and their families, all keen to explore the College’s wide range of courses and career pathways.
Visitors had the opportunity to attend informative talks by staff, view demonstrations of student work and live projects, and take part in hands-on activities. Career guidance sessions were also offered, helping attendees understand the options available and how to prepare for future employment prospects.
At the Paola campus, attendees toured laboratories and workshops, engaged with current students and lecturers, and participated in interactive sessions focused on vocational education. Several talks were held across campus to disseminate information about specific courses, including the innovative courses to be offered by the newly established Institute for the Trades.
The Mosta campus delivered a similar experience two days later, showcasing the diversity of programmes and the practical teaching approach that MCAST is known for in the Creative Arts.
Feedback from those in attendance was positive, with many families noting the value of seeing real student work and having direct access to teaching staff and guidance personnel.
College Principal and CEO Stephen Vella said, “We are encouraged by the strong turnout and enthusiastic engagement during both Open Days. It’s been fantastic to see so many young people and their families showing genuine interest in what MCAST offers, from creative arts and science to business and engineering. We were delighted to see students as young as thirteen coming to the college as they are planning their study options for the coming years.”
MCAST offers over 200 full-time courses, ranging from vocational certificates to doctoral programmes. The Open Days were designed to strengthen connections between student aspirations and the needs of the job market, underlining the College’s emphasis on industry-relevant education. Several industry partners were also present to give information about specific careers and job opportunities.
Prospective students who were unable to attend are encouraged to visit the MCAST website for detailed information on courses, application procedures and guidelines ahead of the October intake.
Applications open on 14 July and student are encouraged to apply early to secure a place in their preferred course.
