April 15, 2025 Communications

MCAST has just launched the 71st edition of its magazine, MCASTlink, dedicated to exploring the theme of Work-Based Learning.

This latest edition highlights the impact that work-based learning opportunities have on students, academic staff and industry partners. Through a series of interviews, student success stories and insights from leading employers, the publication highlights how hands-on experiences are helping learners build strong foundations for their careers.

In this edition employers who work closely with MCAST, offer an insider’s view of the mutual benefits of apprenticeships and industry placements. Employers share firsthand accounts of the value that apprentices bring to the workplace.

MCASTlink also covers stories by students that reflect on how real-world experiences have shaped both their professional ambitions and personal growth. One group of MCAST Journalism students have contributed original articles, offering peer-to-peer reflections on the personal and professional growth fostered by work-based learning.

A key highlight of this edition is the MCAST Onboarding Event — an important initiative that helps students explore apprenticeship opportunities and prepare for the world of work by connecting directly with potential employers.

The magazine also shines a spotlight on the journeys of MCAST lecturers who transitioned from industry roles into education, bringing with them invaluable knowledge and hands-on expertise that continue to enhance the student learning experience.

A copy of this magazine can be picked up from the MCAST Main Campus in Paola, or downloaded from the MCAST website at https://mcast.edu.mt/mcastlink.
