H.E. The President of Malta Visits MCAST IBMC Career EXPO 2025

The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) welcomed Her Excellency the President of Malta, Myriam Spiteri Debono, to its main campus in Paola on 13 March 2025. The visit formed part of the College’s ongoing commitment to strengthening ties between academia and industry, further fostering student career development.

Her Excellency was received by MCAST’s leadership, including the President of the Board of Governors, Mr Horace Laudi; Principal and CEO, Mr Stephen Vella; Deputy Principal, Dr Mario Cardona; and the Director of the Institute of Business Management and Commerce (IBMC), Mr Andrew Galea.

Addressing staff and students, Her Excellency, the President of Malta, emphasised the significance of the College’s vocational education and training as a bridge between education and employment, reinforcing MCAST’s dedication to providing its students with the tools necessary for success in the professional world.

The IBMC Career EXPO 2025, held over two days, served as a vital networking platform for students pursuing careers in business and finance. Now in its fourth edition, the EXPO provided a unique opportunity for students to interact with industry leaders, enhancing their professional prospects and ensuring preparedness for the evolving job market. This year, 22 exhibitors were present, representing a diverse range of industry sectors.

The IBMC at MCAST is home to over 1,400 students enrolled in full-time courses across disciplines such as management, marketing, accountancy, finance, and other business-related fields. Programmes range from entry-level qualifications to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees to equip students with technical expertise and essential soft skills for the workplace.

Beyond career development, the IBMC Career EXPO also had a philanthropic aspect, with approximately €9,000 in donations presented to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. This initiative highlighted MCAST’s commitment to social responsibility alongside its educational objectives.
