MCAST celebrated the contributions of six staff members who retired between January and mid-November 2024, recognising their years of dedication in a retirement gathering. The event served as a tribute to the time and effort these employees have devoted to supporting the College’s educational mission, its students, and the wider community. The group of retirees collectively contributed to 96 years of service to the College.
Hosted by the President of the Board of Governors, Mr Horace Laudi, and Principal and CEO, Mr Stephen Vella, the ceremony saw each retiree presented with a certificate and a token of appreciation for their service in the presence of Deputy Principal Mr Ronald Curmi, Human Resources Director Valerie Attard and the Chairperson of the Staff Social Committee Sandra Cortis, Director Dr Ing. Stephen Sammut and Manager Quentin Farrugia.
During the event, Mr Laudi expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the staff’s hard work and underscored the importance of recognising every contribution that makes MCAST a place of excellence and pride. Mr Laudi also added that the preparation of our staff members toward retirement is also important and retirees should continue to contribute as active members of our community.
Principal and CEO Mr Stephen Vella highlighted the lasting impact of the retirees, praising their contribution, whether in lecturing, maintenance, or administration. He reflected on the support they had provided to colleagues, their inspiration to students, and their crucial role in shaping the College’s environment.
The event was a moment of appreciation and reflection, celebrating those who have dedicated their careers to MCAST and its community.
With heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to our colleagues Edward Bugeja, Mario Bugeja, May Callus, Josephine Mifsud, Adrian Rizzo and Anna Maria Vella.
