MCAST signs Collaborative Agreements with International Universities

The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) together with its collaborative commercial arm MCAST Gateway to the Industry (MG2-I) signed collaborative agreements with Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) and Arba Minch University (AMiT) during a trade mission in Ethiopia organised by TradeMalta.

The agreements struck between MCAST and these international Universities foster a collaborative partnership aimed at enhancing student exchange, upgrading teaching standards, and promoting academic and cultural development.

Speaking about these new collaborative agreements MCAST Deputy Principal for Business Development and Communications Mr Stephen Vella said, “The signing of these agreements is of great importance for all institutions involved. We are committed to working together toward fulfilling the needs of each other’s objectives and achieving shared success.”

The objective of these agreements includes the exchange and mobility of students between campuses, coordination of academic events, joint research initiatives, development and delivery of joint courses, and other forms of academic cooperation as mutually agreed. The partnerships also aim to provide high-quality education through joint responsibility in curriculum development across various academic disciplines represented at both institutions.

Dr Muluneh Lemma, Scientific Director of Arba Minch Institute of Technology (AMiT) at Arba Minch University emphasised how this, “agreement with MCAST highlights the university’s commitment to leveraging its expertise and resources to benefit the community and various disciplines”.

Dr Solomon Tirunhe, Vice President for administration and development at Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) said, “The main mission given to ASTU is to become advanced in science and technology and enhance the productivity of the country and this agreement with MCAST will help us moving forward and reaching this objective.”
