Representatives from the Malta Film Commission briefed students about the scheme which was launched as part of the Mediterrane Film Festival and encouraged them to participate. Chosen candidates will be receiving a 100, 000 euros fund to produce a short 15-minute professional film. Apart from funds to execute their project, the candidates will also be receiving guidance and training from film industry experts.

MCAST Principal and CEO Professor Joachim James Calleja said, “At MCAST we are strong advocates of training, and industry practice. We provide apprenticeships, and work-based learning. This initiative is a very good opportunity for MCAST students following film-related courses to explore the industry and gain practical skills and knowledge, which will help them to successfully launch their future careers within this sector.”
