Around 75 guidance teachers, career advisers, and PSCD teachers attended the seminar organized by MCAST’s Outreach and Student Affairs department.  The seminar was a continuation of the one held in December where after hearing the views of students, industry partners had the opportunity to address the audience and share their views on MCAST students and the experiential component in the educational trajectory of vocational students.

Addressing the audience during the event MCAST Principal and CEO Professor Joachim James Calleja said, “Witnessing industry partners, students, and alumni stating the relevance of vocational careers in today’s labor market clearly shows the importance of vocational education and training offered at MCAST to both students and the industry at large.”

During the seminar, two panels made up of industry partners’ representatives were held, during which various themes were discussed. Themes included the importance of apprenticeship programs, the link between the College and industry partners, courses offered at MCAST, and the application process.

The event helped in placing guidance teachers in a better position to guide their students in choosing their next educational journey after finishing secondary education by equipping them with the latest information about studying at MCAST, courses offered, and facilities for students on campus.

Details of the upcoming Open Day were given to the attendees who will in turn promote it with their students. All attendees were made aware of MCAST’s disposition to help prospective students through the various activities in order to be able to make an informed decision about their future.
