Academics from the Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering visit MCAST

This past week, MCAST welcomed eight lecturers and professors from the Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering in Denmark. Their trip was planned to learn about MCAST’s sustainable practices, innovative teaching methods and cutting-edge technology, focusing on engineering, marine, automation, the green transition, digitalization, and Research and Innovation.

During their time at MCAST, the Danish professors were impressed by the institution’s unyielding commitment to providing students with an education on par with the world’s best to prepare them for careers in their chosen fields. The visit also highlighted the significance of expanding international exchanges and mobility programmes for learners and educators alike.

The MCAST’s principal met with the visiting academics, and during their conversation, they shared their insightful perspectives on the challenges that educators face in the modern world. The group had the opportunity to learn more about MCAST’s Strategic Approach to SDGs and their commitment to ensuring continued student engagement in education and learning activities. In addition, the lecturers were given a chance to tour MCAST’s Institute of Engineering and Transport, discuss with a representative from the Institute of Applied Sciences, and debate research challenges and best practices with the Research and Innovation team. The group also visited the new library at MCAST and was impressed by its modern facilities.

Both institutions exchanged best practices for the benefit of their students during the visit, which was insightful and engaging. The Danish professors departed Malta with a favourable opinion of MCAST and expressed an interest in returning to focus on particular areas of collaboration.
