May 25, 2026(2 events) 9:30 am: Greendale ERASMUS+ Project – As part of MCAST’s commitment to the Erasmus+ GreenDale project and our institutional pledge toward a culture of sustainability, we are organising a face-to-face seminar introducing the handbook “Teaching for a Sustainable Future: Integrating Sustainability Competences in Higher Education.”
The session aims to show lecturers and policy makers how to use the European Sustainability Competence Framework (GreenComp) to integrate sustainability competences into existing course units, revise learning outcomes and teaching strategies, and apply practical approaches to sustainability in the classroom.
Hence, we believe this seminar will be particularly relevant for IAS lecturers, as it provides practical ways to embed sustainability thinking.
6:00 pm: Silver Linings – A Legacy of Hair Artistry & Innovation – Upcoming Event: Silver Linings – A Legacy of Hair Artistry & Innovation The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), through the Institute of Community Services (ICS), is proud to present a special edition of the ICS Hair Show titled Silver Linings – A Legacy of Hair Artistry & Innovation. This year’s event holds particular significance as it forms part of the celebrations marking 25 years of MCAST, recognising the journey, achievements, and continued evolution of vocational education in Malta. The theme Silver Linings was chosen intentionally to symbolise this important milestone, while also reflecting creativity, innovation, transformation, and future possibilities within the hair and beauty industry. The show celebrates the many students, lecturers, technicians, and professionals whose passion and dedication have contributed to shaping hairdressing education at ICS over the past twenty-five years. The event also reflects the ongoing modernisation of the hair and beauty sector, demonstrating how hairdressing today extends far beyond traditional salon practices. Artistry, design, science, technology, sustainability, media and entrepreneurship now play a central role within the profession, creating new opportunities for future generations.
