Zizza u Maria
Zizza u Maria – A project covering songs from local alternative bands and musicians such as Plato’s Dream Machine, Konroll and Brikkuni to push the idea of Maltese repertoire by Brodu’s own frontman Zizza and Maria Sammut.
This duo was formed with the intention of playing contemporary Maltese songs on the road, or wherever there is a need. The idea is to share records, not usually played on the radio, and that normally remain secret between musicians and their friends to streetwalkers. Maria was born in the 90s, when Mark was already well nurtured in music, both in the church groups playing the guitar and from learning how to rhythm from his father. Mark was born in the 80s when Maria was still unborn, but her mother’s desire to send her to play the piano had already sprouted. They choose to play records from the near past, from the beginning of the turn of the century to the present.
Etikett by Teatru Malta & Moveo Dance Company
Etikett is an improvisational dance-theatre project which premiered in 2022. This time, performers will transform AI-generated suggestions into an electrifying and unpredictable dance-theatre show. If you’re seeking conformity, look elsewhere. Remember, we don’t hold the reins, the machines do, and the show’s outcome is as unpredictable as it is unforgettable
Teatru Malta
Teatru Malta is your national theater company, established in 2016. We transcend the traditional confines of theater. Our offices are based at MCAST, yet our reach extends across Malta and Gozo, with no specific theater we call home. We create theater on salt pans, gardens, houses, on campus, in community or baroque theaters. We collaborate with a diverse range of theater makers and artists from different backgrounds, schools and styles, rather than maintaining a fixed ensemble. Under the artistic direction of Sean Buhagiar, our mission is to create impactful and meaningful artistic experiences that give rise to unforgettable moments of shared imagination, captivating existing audiences while captivating new ones.
In the tapestry of our touring repertoire lies Etikett, a collaborative project with MOVEO Dance Company. Originally directed by Simone Ellul, this innovative venture debuted in 2022 as an improvisational dance-theater performance centered around a table. Following a successful collaboration with Heritage Malta on Valentine’s Day, Etikett makes its return, this time as Etikett AI for KampusSajf. In this evolved iteration, performers will intertwine their improvised artistry with AI-driven cues, diverging from the original show’s reliance on audience input.
