Course Description

This course comprises both College-based training and work-based learning. It gives an in-depth knowledge and experience of the general requirements and specialist areas related to the field of building and construction. At the end of the first year, learners can choose one of four streams that include: Construction Design, Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying, and Civil and Road Engineering. Learners will be able to carry out duties at a professional and technical level in areas such as building, construction, civil and roads engineering. They will be able to carry out tasks related to Design, Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying, Geospatial Engineering, Geographical Information, and Roads and Project Management. This course includes work-related training and practice.

Entry Requirements

Internal Progression Route…

Any MCAST MQF Level 3 (minimum 60 credits) Diploma or equivalent in an Engineering Field

OR

4 subjects at SEC / SSC&P / SSQP, or equivalent, with a Pass Grade / Level 3 Compulsory: One subject from Engineering Technology OR Design and Technology OR Graphical Communication OR Chemistry OR Mathematics OR Physics

An Applicant aged 21 years and over, and not in possession of the above Entry Requirements, may wish to apply via the Maturity Clause route.  Applicants under Maturity Clause must still present clear documentation showing that they have a number of achievements in hand together with their School Leaving formal Certificate / document (to confirm their successful completion of compulsory schooling).  Age is not the only eligibility factor in such instances.  Besides documents showing their past achievements, applicants must present a detailed CV using the Europass format, as well as the most recent official JobsPlus Employment History.
