Course Description

This degree programme is a synthesis of the most important elements of professional fine art practice as it concerns underpinning knowledge, fundamental skills and understanding. Learners have the opportunity to appreciate and develop a range of practical fine art disciplines, including drawing, sculpture, painting, photography, print making and digital imaging. They will be encouraged to investigate the multidimensional aspect of fine art theory and practice, as well as a broad variety of subject matters, such as spiritual, moral, ethical, as well as environmental and socio-cultural issues. This degree programme will stimulate learners in developing both their own personal advancement and the right assets to establish a studio practice.

Full MQF Level 4 Qualifications awarded by the Malta School of Art can be submitted as part of the required documents uploaded at point of application for this programme of studies, and will be reviewed accordingly with a view of considering, or otherwise, eligibility.

Any possible alternative qualifications (local and European) which may be presented instead of the above clearly set compulsory subject, must very clearly be evidenced / documented as being equivalent to the set compulsory subjects in terms of Level, volume (in ects credits), and Content coverage. It will not be possible to consider variances, given the expected preparation and foundations in possession of the applicant asking to be considered for this MQF Level 6 Degree programme of studies.
