Course Description
The course introduces common fundamental principles, skills and software related to contemporary fields of design. Minor streams in game art, graphic design and interactive media will allow learners to specialise in their field of interest and master the required skills in preparation for more independent study at undergraduate level. Exploratory exercises, real life work and the possibility of competitions all form part of the process for an effective learning experience. Taught by experienced visual and technical designers from interdependent fields, this course of study prepares learners to communicate ideas and solve problems through creative and interactive solutions.

Entry Requirements
Internal Progression Route…
- MCAST Diploma in Art and Design, or
- MCAST Diploma in Media, or
- Any MCAST MQF Level 3 Diploma, whilst being in possession of the compulsory subject as indicated (required) hereunder
OR
4 subjects at SEC / SSC&P / SSQP, or equivalent, with a Pass Grade / Level 3
Compulsory: Art or Graphical Communications
Applicants may be asked to sit for an Interview and/or present a Portfolio.
Other notes related to this programme
Full MQF Level 3 Qualifications awarded by the Malta School of Art can be submitted as part of the required documents uploaded at point of application for this programme of studies, and will be reviewed accordingly with a view of considering, or otherwise, eligibility.
Any possible alternative qualifications (local and European) which may be presented instead of the above clearly set compulsory subjects, must very clearly be evidenced / documented as being equivalent to the set compulsory subjects in terms of Level, volume (in ects credits), and Content coverage. It will not be possible to consider variances, given the expected preparation and foundations in possession of the applicant asking to be considered for this MQF Level 4 programme of studies.
An Applicant aged 21 years and over, and not in possession of the above Entry Requirements, may wish to apply via the Maturity Clause route. Applicants under Maturity Clause must still present clear documentation showing that they have a number of achievements in hand together with their School Leaving formal Certificate / document (to confirm their successful completion of compulsory schooling). Age is not the only eligibility factor in such instances. Besides documents showing their past achievements, applicants must present a detailed CV using the Europass format, as well as the most recent official JobsPlus Employment History.
