Course Description
This programme of study is aimed at learners who wish to embark on a scientific career in a range of industries such as petrochemical, life sciences, health, pharmaceutics and the environment. The programme of study contains a wide range of science and technology study units that reflect aspects of employment within relevant industries. The learners will appreciate how the fundamental principles of science relate to the technological operations of the workplace. They will develop the necessary skills to work in a laboratory environment within the manufacturing industry, and to apply basic principles within the workplace.

Entry Requirements
Internal Progression Route….
- MCAST Diploma in Applied Science, or
- Any MCAST MQF Level 3 Diploma, whilst being in possession of the compulsory subjects as indicated hereunder
OR
4 subjects at SEC / SSC&P / SSQP, or equivalent, with a Pass Grade / Level 3
from the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Design and Technology
Other notes related to this programme
An Applicant aged 21 years and over, and not in possession of the above Entry Requirements, may wish to apply via the Maturity Clause route. Applicants under Maturity Clause must still present clear documentation showing that they have a number of achievements in hand together with their School Leaving formal Certificate / document (to confirm their successful completion of compulsory schooling). Age is not the only eligibility factor in such instances. Besides documents showing their past achievements, applicants must present a detailed CV using the Europass format, as well as the most recent official JobsPlus Employment History.
