Course Description
This Post Graduate Certificate in Research Methods is the first year of the Master in Research Methods.
The MCAST Master in Research Methods (MResMethods) programme is carried out via a taught methodology component that is then developed into a detailed research
endeavour that has to be implemented, presented and defended at Master's level.
Students will have demonstrated originality in the application of knowledge by
designing and developing advanced research skills using specific tools and a robust
methodological approach. The programme guides the student towards compiling peer-reviewed research articles at publishable level. It provides the student with sound practical knowledge and experience in preparation for a career that includes a
significant research element, as well as in the preparation and training for a research
endeavour at doctoral level.

Entry Requirements
A relevant first degree at 180 ECTS or more.
OR
An MQF Level 5 qualification and adequate professional experience may also be
considered for mature students.
Other notes related to this programme
Applicants will need to draw up and submit a formal Proposal for their Research…. which will be vetted by a Board establishing when or whether applicant can be enrolled and registered on the Level 7 Research programme
In the absence of above entry requirements, applicants aged 27 years and over, can submit an application under the Maturity Clause…. but must present a recognised MQF/EQF Level 5 qualification (minimum of 120 credits), or its equivalent, in any area of study, together with clear evidence of a minimum of three (3) years (full time) of direct and relevant professional experience.
Applicants under Maturity Clause, will be asked to sit for a combined Maturity and Master’s Suitability Interview
