Course Description
This programme is intended for learners who would like to start developing a strong grounding in the field of motor vehicle engineering and maintenance. Through the various aspects of training that this course provides, learners should be able to gain a good understanding of the basic systems found in light vehicles and how to handle tools safely. Learners will also develop the essential skills of the trade, including the carrying out of basic routine checks, the replacement of parts as required in the periodic servicing of vehicles, and the maintenance of appropriate service records. In this programme, learners will also follow studies in key skills subjects, such as English, Maltese, Mathematics, Information Technology.

- Any MCAST MQF Level 2 Foundation Certificate
OR
2 subjects at SEC / SSC&P / SSQP, or equivalent, with a Pass Grade / Level 3

An Applicant aged 19 years and over, and not in possession of the above Entry Requirements, may wish to apply via the Maturity Clause route. Applicants under Maturity Clause must still present clear documentation showing that they have a number of achievements in hand together with their School Leaving formal Certificate / document (to confirm their successful completion of compulsory schooling). Age is not the only eligibility factor in such instances. Besides documents showing their past achievements, applicants must present a detailed CV using the Europass format, as well as the most recent official JobsPlus Employment History.
