This course of study includes theoretical knowledge and practical training both in College-based industrial workshops and also on work placements. Technical and practical lessons cover measuring, cutting, preparing and assembling timber and timber board products to make interior fittings such as kitchen cabinets, doors and window frames. The learners will be expected to participate individually and in teams to produce simple products from solid wood and composite materials. Learners will be trained in the practical handling of hand and power tools and simple woodworking machines. This course also provides learners with the opportunity to further develop their knowledge of key skills subjects such as Mathematics, Science, English, Maltese, Information Technology.

• Any MCAST MQF Level 2 Foundation Certificate

OR

2 subjects at SEC / SSC&P / SSQP, or equivalent, with a Pass Grade / Level 3

An Applicant aged 19 years and over, and not in possession of the above Entry Requirements, may wish to apply via the Maturity Clause route.  Applicants under Maturity Clause must still present clear documentation showing that they have a number of achievements in hand together with their School Leaving formal Certificate / document (to confirm their successful completion of compulsory schooling).  Age is not the only eligibility factor in such instances.  Besides documents showing their past achievements, applicants must present a detailed CV using the Europass format, as well as the most recent official JobsPlus Employment History.
