Course Description
Our BA (Hons) in Aviation and Airport Management has been developed in collaboration with senior industry representatives to address the growing demand for graduates who possess strong business skills and a comprehensive understanding of the global aviation industry. Aviation is a dynamic sector, encompassing everything from cutting-edge aviation engineering to the strategic management of international airlines and airports.
This multidisciplinary program provides a solid academic foundation in key areas of aviation management, with a particular emphasis on the international business context. The learner will gain a deep understanding of the global business environment in which airlines and airports operate, through the study of economics, human resources, marketing, and finance.
Students enrolled in the BA (Hons) in Aviation and Airport Management will have the opportunity to exit with a recognised qualification during the progress of the programme as follows:
o Undergraduate Certificate – during the first year of the programme
o Undergraduate Diploma – upon successful completion of the first year of the programme
o Higher Diploma – upon successful completion of the second year of the programme
o Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree – upon successful completion of third year of the programme
A core focus of the course is equipping the learner with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a variety of aviation-related career paths, including airline operations management and strategy. Our lecturers, with their extensive industry connections, are well-positioned to offer valuable career advice tailored to the aviation sector.
The program is designed to enhance the learner decision-making abilities at operational, international, and strategic levels. While the graduate will specialize in airline, airport, and aviation management, the course also ensures the development of transferable skills essential for a career in international business management. Our location in Malta places us close to the main offices of several leading aviation companies, just a short distance
from Malta International Airport. Thanks to our strong industry links, we regularly host guest lecturers from airlines, airports, maintenance organizations, consultancy firms, and aircraft manufacturers. This offers students the opportunity to gain practical, career-relevant experience during their studies. However, it should be noted that MCAST does not guarantee the availability of work placements.

An Applicant aged 23 years and over, and not in possession of the above Entry Requirements, may wish to apply via the Maturity Clause route. Applicants under Maturity Clause must still present clear documentation showing that they have a number of achievements in hand together with their School Leaving formal Certificate / document (to confirm their successful completion of compulsory schooling). Age is not the only eligibility factor in such instances. Besides documents showing their past achievements, applicants must present a detailed CV using the Europass format, as well as the most recent official JobsPlus Employment History.
