Mr Reuben Mifsud
Deputy Director

An educator with twenty years of experience in various roles in different sectors. Served
as a teacher in church and state schools. Involved in pastoral care and guidance
services from the very first years of professional practice. Worked in the area of
adult education and andragogy as well as parental and community involvement with
FES and MEDE.

Served as Education Officer in the Quality Assurance Department DQSE. Responsible
for conducting external reviews in state and non-state schools as well as providing
support on internal evaluation mechanisms of schools.
One of the link persons for the mentoring process and training when mentoring was
first introduced as a formal role in the education grades. Member in the team
responsible for the dissemination of the National Curriculum Framework with
educators, parents, and society in general.

Assistant head and eventually the first lay headmaster of St Augustine College until
joining the MCAST Curriculum Department. His main role at present is the
implementation of the Master in Vocational Education Applied Research 4.0, the
Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training 4.0, the development of a Certificate
in Mentoring in Vocational Education and Training as well as CPD initiatives of the
Centre for Professional Development.
