Mr Reuben Mifsud
Deputy Director

An educator with more than twenty five years’ experience in various roles in different sectors of the educational system. Served as a teacher in church and state schools. Involved in pastoral care and guidance services as from the very first years of professional practice. Worked in the area of adult education and andragogy as well as parental and community involvement.

Served as Education Officer in the Quality Assurance Department and so was responsible for conducting external reviews in state and non-state schools as well as providing support on internal evaluation mechanisms of schools. Was one of the link persons for the mentoring process and training when mentoring was first introduced as a formal role in the education sector. Member in the team responsible for the dissemination of the National Curriculum Framework with educators, parents and society in general.

Assistant head and eventually the first lay headmaster of St Augustine College until joining the MCAST Curriculum Department and subsequently moving to the role of Deputy Director CPD.

As part of HR, his main focus at present is the implementation of professional development learning opportunities for all staff as well as nurturing an inclusive community through involvement in the Staff Social Committee and the Equality Committee.
