- This time window is also the final opportunity for any applicants who in the past (up to July 2026) would have been an MCAST student, and for any reason would have stopped their trajectory at MCAST – and now want to Return to MCAST, to either continue from where they would have left or start off a new programme of studies in view of academic year 2026/27. Such applications are not taken after the 14th August 2026 (1400h).
Important Note: If an applicant will be sitting for any August/September MATSEC examinations, it is essential that an application for a course which the applicant is currently eligible for, will be submitted in this Main Call by the set deadline. After that MATSEC results are published towards end-September, if the applicant will be in possession of new additional results, there will be the opportunity to transfer to a higher level or different course – according to new eligibility …. Only if the applicant would by then have become an MCAST registered student on a course for which there was eligibility prior to MATSEC end-September results.
ONLY applicable to those who by the 23 September 2026, would have become MCAST Registered students after submitting a complete and successful course application during the Main Call [13th July (0800h) till 14th August (1400h)] (even if for a lower level or a different course, prior to achieving better results at publication of MATSEC results)
- Students who following the MAIN CALL [13 July (0800h) till 14 August (1400h)] will be successfully ALREADY registered at MCAST for academic year 2026/27, with an active MCAST Student email address (2026/27), may wish to request a Transfer of Course by filling the online form here https://forms.office.com/e/8ab8waLs5U. The form can be filled in using your MCAST email address, and will become active as from 24 September 2026 at 0800h. Transfers can only be considered if spaces are still available on the selected course.
- Eligibility will still be processed when transferring to the new course, and so it is important that all the necessary entry requirements for the chosen course would be clearly available in the student's profile from original vetting which led to Registration as MCAST student. Otherwise it will not be possible to vet eligibility for the Transfer.
- To this effect, if during this time window you are now eligible for a higher level or a different programme, [from the one you would have been registered on after successful completion of MAIN CALL application process], after achieving additional grades following (for example) publication of MATSEC / SEC end-September 2026 Results, it is important that when filling in the online form here https://forms.office.com/e/8ab8waLs5U, a full clear scan of the latest results slip (NOT SMS screenshot) is uploaded accordingly.
- If for some reason you have not submitted an application between 13th July (0800h) and 14th August 2026 (1400h) and you now want to submit such a new application, kindly refer to the Late Application Call (refer to next section hereunder in the Admissions Window) – please ensure reading the terms and conditions which come with that late application call – updated accordingly till eve of call opening.
30 September is the last chance for an application to be submitted – in person at MCAST and having all the required documentation needed to vet eligibility for the selected course
- Only in-person applications are received during this Late Call…. during the set dates and times.
- This Late Call Applications' window is the final chance to submit an application for an MCAST Full Time programme. Note that FT Programmes available during this LATE call, will not include courses that would have become oversubscribed after closure of Main Call [14 August 2026 (1400h)].
- This Late Call is NOT available for applicants who would have in the past been registered students at MCAST and who for any reason would have stopped their programme of studies at some point (up to July 2026). Such instances of Returning to continue studying at MCAST need to have submitted their application during the Main Call [13 July (0800h) till 14 August 2026 (1400h)]
- Before coming in person to MCAST to submit their late application, applicants must have secured (via Identita agency) that they have active and valid EID credentials linked to their Maltese Identity Document.
- When coming to MCAST (only during the set dates and times) applicants must bring along one's own National ID Document (original version), together with Originals and Copies of all past certificates/qualifications at hand, such as MATSEC / SEC Result Slip (NOT SMS screen shot), SSQP (all pages) etc. Applicants for a course need to check and ensure that they will have in hand all the necessary Entry Requirements for the course they choose to come at MCAST to apply for.
- Wherever a course requires some form of Medical Clearance (please refer to the respective course webpage on MCAST website – Full Time courses section), applicant must also bring along the hardcopy version of a complete filled-in form, including any endorsement signatures as may be necessary from a Professional Medical Practitioner, as well as any parents' signature/s (for applicants under the age of 18 years). Without such a complete document, the application cannot be received and processed.
- It will not be possible for applicants to start attending lectures, before the whole Late Application process would be completely covered (including vetting of all required documents), a course acceptance offer is issued and same is accepted by the applicant – prior to becoming an MCAST Registered student for academic year 2026/27
- This late call does not come with Maturity Clause arrangements, neither will it be possible to try and find comparable alternatives to what is clearly explained as the Entry Requirements published in the respective Course Webpage (in terms of Exams / Certificates etc). Where Initial Assessment Tests are involved as part of entry eligibility vetting into Level 1 or Level 2, there will only be one sitting which must be utilised by the applicant in order to have the application processed. In the case of Master in Veterinary Medicine (and only if spaces will still be available following the Main Call), applicants must be in clear possession of the required minimum of Grade B in MATSEC exams (as per entry requirements stated on course webpage) … late applicants will not have any opportunity for the course specific entry examinations.
- This Late Call Applications' window, is available for TCNs and EU Nationals already residing in Malta who do not have an active Maltese EID (required to create a MCAST CMIS account). The process here requires the presentation to MCAST of a previous clear communication with Identita Agency which proves that the process for getting the EID for the applicant, has either started off or else Identita Agency confirms that the applicant will not be entitled to an EID for a justified purpose. IMPORTANT: this process of applying without an active and valid EID, will take longer due to the alternative method and may take a number of weeks to be processed – always depending on whether all the required documents would have been properly presented to MCAST accordingly (including any MQRIC Statements for Non-Maltese qualifications which would be presented to cover entry eligibility).
- This Late Application window is NOT available for applicants who when coming in person to MCAST on the set dates and times, do not have all the necessary documentation (including Medical Clearance forms where applicable) as well as entry requirements (including the MQRIC statement for non-Maltese qualifications) by 30th September 2026. Applications intended for submission under the Maturity Clause will not be processed – as already explained earlier… the opportunity for any Maturity Clause application submission, is only possible during the Main Call.
