MCAST Admissions Application Time Windows
Submission of online applications from International Applicants* for MCAST Full-Time Prospectus 25/26 programmes of study… Only open for Third Country (non-EU) Nationals not yet residing in Malta (hence without an active and valid Maltese EID). EU nationals as well as TCNs already residing in Malta (as at 14th July 2025) are NOT to submit an application during this time window, and are kindly asked to refer to the applications’ time-window (as explained in the following section – 14th July till 25th August 2025).
- *This online applications’ time window is only open for Third Country (non-EU) Nationals not yet residing in Malta (hence without an active and valid Maltese EID)
- International applications for Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing will be received until Wednesday 30th April 2025.
- All documents required for a fully completed online application (ready for processing for Admissions into Academic year 2025/26 – FT Prospectus Courses) must be properly uploaded. This includes scans of MQRIC Statement/s for non-Maltese qualifications, copies of Certificates and official transcripts/results in English (including any required Apostilled translations), copies of original English Proficiency Certificates, and all other necessary documentation.
- The entry eligibility process will also include an International Applicant interview, which can be held online only after all the necessary documentation has been received.
- In specific cases where required certification is not attained by the deadline, the applicant will be granted a maximum of three working weeks (from the deadline) to present any missing documentation. Beyond this, any online application submitted with missing documents will not be processed for Academic year 2025/26. Where MQRIC Statements are required but not in possession by the end of June 2025, the applicant must present the official receipt from MQRIC.

Main Call…. MCAST Admissions FT Prospectus Courses 25/26 – using an active and valid EID. All applicants must submit their application in this call. There will not be another opportunity until the Late Application time-window. This Time-Window is also applicable to EU nationals not yet residing in Malta, as well as TCNs with a Residency Permit.
Applications are to be submitted after applicants create their MCAST CMIS Student Profile (using an active and valid EID). For further information, please refer to https://mcast.edu.mt/important-information/. Only applications submitted in full by the set deadline will be processed.
- Applications submitted under the Maturity Clause (where entry requirements are not met) will only be considered if submitted by Thursday 14th August 2025. Refer to https://mcast.edu.mt/important-information/ for details.
- This time-window is available for EU Nationals and Third Country Nationals already residing in Malta, as well as EU nationals not yet residing in Malta who do not have a valid Maltese EID. Such applicants should contact mcast7888@mcast.edu.mt.
- Applicants wishing to apply for a FT Prospectus 25/26 Programme of Study without a valid Maltese EID must use this time-window.
- Applicants for Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine must submit their application by 10th August 2025 to ensure timely processing.
- Important Note: Applicants sitting for any August/September 2025 MATSEC exams/resits are asked to submit a course application during this call. If they qualify for another programme after results are issued, they may request a change as explained in the Transfer/Change in Course Time Window.
Transfer of / Change in Course: This time-window is only for those who have successfully applied between 14th July and 25th August 2025, were found eligible for their course, and accepted the course offer from MCAST.
Following the publication of MATSEC results in late September 2025, registered students may gain additional subject pass grades which could make them eligible to transfer to another course.
This window does not apply to those who did not submit a successful application for an MCAST FT Programme of Study during the Main Call.
Any transfer requests submitted after October will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis (including discussions with the Institute Director). Transfers between institutes may not be considered after October.
Note: It may not always be possible to transfer to any course if the course is oversubscribed following the Main Call. In this window, the Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine is not available for transfer.
A list of courses not available after the Main Call will be published here after 10th September 2025.
Transferring to the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing course is only possible for those who applied for the ‘Advanced Diploma in Health Sciences’ and have since obtained the necessary entry requirements.
Time window for Late Applications, which can be submitted and processed after payment (and issuance of an official receipt) of a non-refundable EUR 50 late fee. This is only for exceptional circumstances, as lectures have begun.
This Late Applications window is the final chance to submit an application for an MCAST Full Time programme. Note that FT Programmes available here will not include courses that are oversubscribed. Bachelor of Science (Hons) Nursing and Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine are not available in this Late Call.
This window is available for TCN and EU Nationals residing in Malta who do not have an active Maltese EID (required to create a MCAST CMIS account). The process here will take longer due to the alternative method.
This Late Application window is NOT available for applicants who do not have all the necessary entry requirements (including the MQRIC statement for non-Maltese qualifications) by 7th October. Applications intended for submission under the Maturity Clause will also not be processed.
- Monday 14th July till Monday 25th August 2025 – MCAST Students registered during the 2024/25 academic year who are eligible to continue (Form C) into Academic year 2025/26 must submit their Form C application during this period.
- Monday 14th July till Monday 25th August 2025 – MCAST Students eligible for progression (using Form B) to the next level of studies are to submit their application during this time.
- MQF Level 1 and Level 2 course applicants who must sit for an Initial Assessment Test (IAT) should attend the scheduled test; otherwise, they will not be considered for a course change or further processing.
