The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) and Proximo Ltd, agents for Milwaukee Tools in Malta, signed a Sponsorship and Collaboration Agreement aimed at strengthening practical training opportunities for students within MCAST’s Institute for the Trades.
Through this agreement, Proximo Ltd provided a range of professional tools and equipment to support hands-on learning across trade-related programmes. The sponsorship reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that students have access to industry-standard resources that enhance their technical skills and better prepare them for employment.
The collaboration extends beyond the donation of equipment and includes initiatives designed to strengthen the connection between education and industry. These include a student discount scheme on Milwaukee products, collaborative promotional activities, and opportunities to increase student awareness of professional tools and technologies commonly used within the sector.
Speaking about the agreement, MCAST Principal and CEO Stephen Vella highlighted the importance of fostering meaningful partnerships with industry stakeholders that directly benefit students. He noted that access to modern equipment and industry expertise plays a vital role in preparing graduates for the realities of the workplace and supports MCAST’s commitment to delivering high-quality vocational and technical education.
The sponsored equipment will be utilised within the Institute for the Trades to support practical training activities, enabling students to develop competencies using tools that reflect current industry standards and practices.
This collaboration further reinforces MCAST’s ongoing efforts to strengthen industry engagement and provide students with learning experiences that bridge the gap between education and employment.
