Education Minister attends MCAST Graduations

The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) welcomed the Minister for Education Sport, Youth, Research, and Innovation Clifton Grima during the ongoing graduation ceremonies being held on campus in Paola.

Minister Grima attended a graduation ceremony during which students from MCAST’s Institute of Business, Management, and Commerce (IBMC) graduated with Advanced Diplomas in various study areas, including Marketing, Accounting, Business Administration, Administrative and Secretarial Studies. The Minister met with students, handed them graduation certificates, and congratulated them on their success.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony Minister Grima, said, “Today we celebrate your determination and success. We also recognise your families’ efforts, who have supported and believed in you throughout your education. I encourage you to keep persisting in your learning journey, as the need to keep growing doesn’t stop with formal qualifications. The world of employment poses new challenges and flexibility and openness to learning are crucial for you to thrive. MCAST plays an important role in helping develop a culture of lifelong learning, offering opportunities for all to continue their personal and professional growth.”

A total of 2,412 students will graduate from the College in diverse study areas. Around 528 students will graduate this year at Master’s and Bachelor’s levels, while 776 and 91 students have completed Diplomas at levels 4 and 5. At levels 1, 2, and 3, another 987 students completed their studies.

MCAST Principal and CEO Professor Joachim James Calleja said, “We are proud of your success and even prouder that many of you have decided to continue your studies at the College. Graduates of the College are recognised for their hands-on approach and work experience. Your professional integrity goes beyond the skill in your trade and profession. It is, above all, about applying your knowledge and wisdom with an open heart as you continue to grow as individuals and leaders across different sectors.”

Graduates range from diverse MCAST Institutes, including the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the Centre of Agriculture, Aquatics, and Animal Sciences (CAAAS), the Institute of Community Services (ICS), the Institute of Applied Sciences (IAS), the Institute of Creative Arts (ICA), and the Institute of Business, Management, and Commerce (IBMC).

This year a total of twenty-six traditions will be held to celebrate the success of MCAST graduates.
