The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) held a seminar event for College Principals and Heads of Schools at the main campus in Paola.
The event was held to provide information about vocational education and the educational experience at MCAST to educational leaders since they play an important role in providing information to prospective students on their career paths and future education choices.
Two MCAST student panel discussions were held during the event. During these panel discussions, current students following diverse courses at the College were able to provide real-life testimonials on the different study subjects, undertaken and career paths chosen.
Student Outreach Services Director Dr John Bartolo said, “This year we welcomed thousands of students from secondary schools and in June we will continue to welcome prospective students at our open days event. We want to keep building relationships with schools so that study and career option are clear and information is easily available.”
Moreover, all six Institute Directors provided presentations provided information about key aspects related to the respective Institutes they manage and the diverse courses offered at all Institutes.
Participants also had the opportunity to gain knowledge on the vital apprenticeship scheme offered at the College, allowing MCAST students to gain hands-on experience in their respective study areas through a system of work-based learning.
During the event attendees toured the College campus and were shown ongoing works on the new IICT Building. MCAST officials guided them around new facilities including the MCAST Resource Centre Building, and the MCAST library.
