The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) and the National Skills Council (NSC) held an open dialogue on campus.
The event was held to discuss and make sure that skills relevant to labour market needs are being developed by the two organisations while cooperating with industry partners. The importance of matching people’s aspirations and skill sets with opportunities within diverse industries was a theme that was discussed in detail.
Moreover, the dialogue centered around several themes including:
- Exploring the overall skill set that the College is providing at each of the Institutes and the Gozo Centre.
- Outlining the challenges that each Institute encounters in imparting vocational and transversal skills.
- Earmarking the challenges faced in the College’s relations with the industry in designing and reviewing E&T programmes.
- Exploring the role that the NSC could take in the development of E&T programmes.
