Sharing Lives Service – Aġenzija Sapport

SOCIAL

Become a Volunteer! Sharing Lives’ volunteers are people from 16 years and over coming from all walks of life.

Students are welcome to join Sharing Lives’ team of volunteers for specific activities or even for a longer period of time. The Agency also facilitates voluntary experiences for students to be able to satisfy course placement requirements.

Examples of past activities include horse riding, trekking, attending concerts and theatre productions, weekend live-ins, pool parties, BBQs, music sessions, art sessions, sports and fitness, clean-ups, etc.

There are two main ways how volunteers can help:

  • One can participate and help organise unique activities for the people with the disability in a group context.
  • One can act as a social contact where the volunteers are matched with a person with disability who he/she can befriend.

Interested individuals are requested to fill-in and submit an application form together with a recent police conduct and a reference letter. Applications may also be submitted online: Sharing Lives – Volunteer Application or Applikazzjoni għal Sharing Lives – Voluntier

Volunteers who accumulate more than 30 hours of service at the end of their experience will be presented with a certificate from the Agency. There are also other incentives in place to support the volunteers in their work with the service users, including training, supervision, and team building events.
