Brief Description of organisation
Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) is an international humanitarian aid and service provider specialized in the implementation of rapid response programming to support communities in crisis, reduce suffering and mitigate loss of life wherever possible. MOAS specializes in efficient and effective, rights-based programming with a focus on migrant communities or those made vulnerable by global crises.
Type of community work that can be offered to our students
1. Remote work within the PR and Communication department: students will write articles and blogs on humanitarian topics, human rights and advocacy. They will also help to create social media posts and campaigns, as well as weekly newsletters.
2. Office job within the Fundraising department: students will help the team to plan and organize events and activities which are part of MOAS projects. They will also help to create, design and implement fundraising campaigns, including the Giving Tuesday and Christmas campaigns.
3. Community work: students will have the possibility to help the MOAS team to carry out activities and events in Malta as part of the several MOAS’ running projects. These focus on the integration of the migrant communities residing on the Island and the Maltese communities, and on fostering the collaboration with other non-governmental organizations supporting the refugee and migrant communities in Malta.
