DISABILITY
Brief Description of organisation
Opening Doors Association is a voluntary organisation that works for the active involvement of adults with intellectual disabilities in the performing arts sector. Opening Doors Association runs artistic sessions, produces public performances, organises workshops and leads continuous professional training opportunities for its members and the community. Our members attend weekly evening sessions in theatre, dance or music, develop creative work and perform together.
Type of community work that can be offered to our students
We host a schedule of sessions in dance, music and theater on a weekly basis between October – June. The sessions vary between 1.5 to 2.5 hours long. Students can join one of our weekly groups to complete their CSR hours. Completing CSR hours with our organisation can be an especially enriching experience for students with a background in the performing arts.
