MCAST celebrates new graduates’ achievements with Graduation Mass

The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST), held the annual graduation mass ceremony at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta on 7 November to celebrate the success of 2,940 new College graduates.

MCAST President of the Board of Governors Mr Horace Laudi, MCAST Principal and CEO Mr Stephen Vella, and Deputy Principals, MCAST Directors also attended the celebratory mass, celebrated by Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna. The ceremony honoured graduates from all of MCAST’s six institutes.

Commenting on the significance of this occasion Mr Laudi said, “ The graduation ceremonies are a milestone of success and represent the dedication, effort, and growth every student has shown during their time at MCAST. Today we celebrate the graduates’ hard-earned achievements and how each student has their personal and unique story of success.”

While addressing the new graduates MCAST Principal and CEO Mr Stephen Vella said, “Whether progressing to the next level of studies or starting their career, graduates now stand as role models. We urge graduates to show others what being thoughtful, considerate, and responsible means, showing how one can succeed while showing respect, kindness, and dignity towards others.”

The graduation mass and the student’s academic success highlighted MCAST’s valuable mission to prepare students not only in an academic manner but to prepare them for life challenges.

In his homily, Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna wished the new graduates the best of success in their future professional work roles within the industry and urged them, to “follow God’s teachings within your respective professions and make it your main aim to work towards society’s common good.”

The College is set to hold 31 graduation ceremonies for students who followed courses ranging from MQF Level 1 to MQF Level 7. Graduation ceremonies will start on the 21 November and will run till the 6 December 2024.

This year 582 students will be graduating at Masters and Bachelor’s levels, while 1922 students have completed Diplomas at Levels 3, 4, and 5.
