MCAST President welcomes Staff Social Committee initiatives

MCAST President Mr Horace Laudi visited the members of the MCAST Staff Social Committee at the College’s main campus on July 24, 2024.

Mr Laudi expressed his commitment to supporting the initiatives proposed by the Committee, which aims to create a more inclusive campus life and strengthen the College’s community. He praised the Committee’s efforts and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in enriching the experience at MCAST.

“Our goal is to ensure that MCAST is not just a place of learning and working but also a thriving community where everyone feels valued and included,” said Mr Laudi. “The Social Committee plays a crucial role in achieving this vision, and I am fully committed to supporting this work.”

Chairperson Sandra Cortis gave a brief overview of past events, potential collaborations, and ways to address the social needs of the College community. The Committee, which was established in May 2022 and is made up of staff representatives, provides networking opportunities for the staff complement of over 1,000 members.

The Social Committee looks forward to implementing the discussed plans in the upcoming academic year. Staff members who wish to contribute to the group’s work or pass on suggestions for future initiatives are encouraged to send an email to socialcommittee@mcast.edu.mt
