The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) welcomed H.E. Santos Alvaro, the new non-resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Mozambique on campus in Paola.
H.E. Santos Alvaro met with College representatives including MCAST Principal and CEO Professor Joachim James Calleja and Deputy Principal for Business Development and Communications Mr Stephen Vella.
During a cordial meeting, the possibility of exploring educational collaborative opportunities between Malta and Mozambique was discussed. H.E. Santos Alvaro highlighted how the prospect of apprenticeship schemes and practical elements found within MCAST courses are highly attractive to Mozambican students.
Several key industrial sectors in which MCAST can provide training and education to Mozambican students were identified including, Maritime, Logistics, Agriculture, Tourism, and Engineering.
The College embraces opportunities and discussions that could lead to fruitful bilateral cooperation. MCAST already offers a variety of courses to international students through its commercial arm MCAST Gateway to the Industry (MG2I).
