The European Network of Innovative Higher Education Institutions (ENIHEI) hosted its third annual conference on October 5th and 6th. The event was hosted by the Technical University of Gabrovo, Bulgaria.
ENIHEI, a consortium of 38 innovative universities representing countries across the European Union, is at the forefront of fostering collective innovative thinking on the role of higher education in driving innovation. The network was first introduced at the inaugural European Education and Innovation Summit in June 2022.
As a forum for knowledge exchange and idea-sharing, ENIHEI members collaborate on how higher education can cultivate an innovation culture, enabling creativity, entrepreneurship, and talent to flourish.
The conference counted on the esteemed presence of Mariya Gabriel, former European Commissioner for Innovation and current Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Bulgaria. She engaged in a panel discussion titled “Transformative Contributions of Higher Education to the European Innovation Ecosystem: Opportunities, Challenges, and Resources,” and also delivered the closing remarks.
Representing MCAST at this significant event was College Research and Innovation Deputy Principal Dr Tatjana Chircop. As a proud member of ENIHEI, MCAST looks forward to contributing to the vital discussions on higher education and innovation.
