Fr. Jorge Crisafulli SDB, the Provincial of the Salesian Mission in Nigeria, paid a courtesy visit at the Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST). The Provincial was welcomed by the College’s Principal and CEO Professor Joachim James Calleja.
The Salesians of Don Bosco in Nigeria run a number of technical schools and Fr Jorge was keen to familiarize himself with the College and the possibilities that it offers.
During a courtesy meeting, Prof Calleja outlined the strategic plan of the College which includes the broadening of its international partner network. Fr Jorge showed a particular interest in the possibility of academic recognition by the College for the various training programmes that the Salesians run in Nigeria.
During his visit, Fr Jorge had the opportunity to be shown around the Campus by Fr Richard Ebejer SDB and visited a number of Institutes. Fr Jorge was impressed how the students were given every opportunity for work-based learning, something which is very much in line with the technical education Salesians offer in Nigeria.
The Provincial’s visit to MCAST has opened new possibilities of further cooperation between the two entities.
Fr. Jorge was accompanied by his secretary Fr. Chikezie Ekugbah SDB, and Fr. Isaac Okoh SDB, a Nigerian Salesian who was concluding his year’s placement in Malta.
